From Venice: Dolomites, Cortina and Lake Braies Day Trip

About This Experience
This is the Venice day trip for people who want Lago di Braies. Of the 602 guests who have reviewed it, the average is 4.9 out of 5, and the group never goes above eight in a Mercedes minivan.
The day starts at Piazzale Roma by 8am. After two hours on the road you get a break in Cortina d'Ampezzo, then drive up for a photo stop facing the Tre Cime di Lavaredo before the long stop of the day: an hour and a half at Lago di Braies, enough to walk a good part of the shore path. The Braies entry fee is included.
On the way back there is a short photo stop at Lake Misurina. Between December and March the operator adds an optional self-drive snowmobile ride to Monte Piana, paid on the day — not relevant in autumn, but a sign the route keeps running when the season turns.

I booked this trip last minute and am so glad I did. Stefania was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. The van was very comfortable and clean. And the Dolomites are just beautiful, Lake Braies in particular so was stunning! Would definitely recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the stop at Lago di Braies?
About an hour and a half. The full shore loop is roughly 3.5 km and takes most people 1.5 to 2 hours, so you will cover a good part of it rather than the whole circuit.
Do you walk at the Tre Cime?
No. It is a fifteen-minute photo stop facing the peaks, not a hike. For the loop trail, see the Tre Cime tours.
Is the Braies parking or entry included?
Yes, the operator lists Lake Braies entry fees as included.
Does it run in autumn?
Yes. In September 2026 we found bookable dates in early and late October and mid-November.
