From Piazzale Roma the van passes Lake Santa Croce and stops at Pieve di Cadore and the Auronzo lake, then gives Lake Misurina an hour and Cortina d'Ampezzo an hour and a quarter over lunch. On the way back the route crosses the Prosecco hills via Vittorio Veneto for a DOCG tasting in the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene area.

In autumn the hills are harvested by late September, and the drive home through them is the prettiest stretch of the day.

Went on tour with Marco. Originally we had Dolomites tour with Prosecco tasting, but it quickly changed to mountain and lake tour (we are more in hiking than wine) with Marco showing us the best places and views on dirt roads only locals would know. Had an absolute blast!! Also, Marco is free solo rock climber so it gives extra context for each place. Now I have full phone and memory of the most beautiful mountain places. BUT. If you want to go on easy tour with other ideas to do in area, Marco will take care of it. So, at the end, no money wasted. On the contrary - it gave me one more place to go back when the time is right.
